Volunteer Connections provides opportunities through the Human Services Council. For information on the following and other opportunities, call 360-735-3683.

• Battle Ground Health Care seeks volunteer dentists. Volunteer massage therapists skilled in providing rehabilitative or medical massage are also needed.

• Clark County Veteran’s Assistance Center seeks volunteer help with reception and general office tasks.

• Court Appointed Special Advocates seeks people who can commit to two years of service for abused or neglected children. CASA volunteers investigate, monitor, advocate and report on behalf of the child with staff support. Specialized training is provided.

• Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools seeks participants for its lunch buddy program, to share lunch with an elementary student, then spend time reading or playing a game, or just talking. Lunch buddies meet at the school only and must commit to the full school year. Volunteers must be 18 or older and pass a background check.

• North County Food Bank needs volunteers to receive food donations, sort, package, and provide client intake at the Battle Ground food bank. Volunteers lift and carry donations, working on concrete floors.

• VA Medical Center seeks help with patient visitation for residents without local family or other visitors. Volunteers help with activities like bingo, movies or card games.

• Volunteer Connections is recruiting volunteers to staff the information desk at the downtown Vancouver Public Service Center on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
