Police set up containment and used police dogs early Thursday morning to search for a burglary suspect in Hazel Dell.

Deputies were called to Jack in the Box, 7815 N. E. Sixth Ave., at about 5:45 a.m. after employees arrived to open the restaurant and saw a smashed window. They also thought they saw someone leaving, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies treated the situation as a burglary that had just occurred and set up containment and tried to track the suspect using police dogs.

After about an hour, investigators learned that the burglary had occurred significantly earlier, and they ended the search.

Deputies are working with the restaurant’s managers to develop suspect information. Anyone who has information on the burglary is asked to call 911.
