Portland – Police have made an arrest in a shooting on a Portland-area light rail train platform.

Police said Sunday that Dawud Bryant, 21, faces charges of attempted murder and assault in the Friday shooting in Gresham, Ore.

Bryant and the victim made eye contact on the train but did not speak.

Police said Bryant shouted at the man and hit him on the head with a pistol after they got off the train.

Authorities said he then fired one round at the victim, nearly hitting him.

The bullet passed through the multiple layers of clothing of the victim’s girlfriend.

Bryant was found a short while later by officers. He had dislocated his shoulder while fleeing.
