We would like to thank the constituents of the 17th Legislative District who attended our town hall meeting on Dec. 9. We discussed some difficult and thought-provoking topics. The input and feedback we received from the community was invaluable. It will help us address several important bills this session.
The political climate in Washington, D.C., is divisive and contentious. We do not want to see the negative energy trickle down to the state level. We are pleased that while some town hall attendees disagreed with other attendees on specific issues, we had a civil and respectful dialogue throughout the town hall meeting. We would like to recognize the high level of character among our town hall participants and community members.
The meeting was a great example of the civility in politics we need to work together in our democratic process. We are honored to serve every one of you.
