Letter: Democrats espouse myths

By Robert Kerr, Vancouver

As I drive around the Salmon Creek community, I see nice houses with three-car garages, two late-model automobiles, and an RV or boat. Continuing on, I pass high schools and view the parking lots filled with late-model cars.

Huh? Is the middle class suffering? This, of course, is the older-than-dirt phony rhetoric that liberals have been spouting from Day One. The top 1 percent of income earners pay 40 percent of all income taxes. What do liberals want — for the top 1 percent to pay everyone’s taxes? The question is, why do 45 percent of income earners pay nothing?

What liberals have always strived for is to control all revenues and distributions. It’s called socialism. If anyone thinks Democrats are really for the middle class, you need to take a class in myths.
