Letter: Celebrate Christ at all times

Although President Trump is not as Christian as the religious right would like, the alternative for president would have been devastating to our faith. Hillary Clinton apparently believes, like most leftists, religion belongs in the home and church and the unborn human baby is not viable.

These are two rights we expect as Americans. Freedom from a biased government to practice our faith and life for God’s innocent children. True Christians get it. Life is a gift. There is a war going on and Jesus Christ has already won. The question is how many souls we can bring to him before his return.

We can’t be fence-sitters. Christians have always been persecuted for our belief in the Messiah (Matthew 5:11) and telling it to the world, as he asks. You need to read letters in The Columbian for harsh rebuttals against Jesus and his faithful. Islamic terrorists beheading Christians in the Middle East for not renouncing Christianity is the extreme end of this persecution. As believers, we will continue to love and pray for those who hate Jesus. Celebrate him 365 days, not just one.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
