Boys basketball: Severn (Md.) 72, Union 67

Tyler Combs scored 23 points as Union fell to a talented team from Maryland at the Surf N Slam Tournament near San Diego.

“It was actually one of our best games of the season, even though we lost,” Union coach Blake Conley said. “That’s why you come to tournaments like this.”

Union (8-3) will face Viewmont (Utah) for third place at 1:45 p.m. Saturday.
