Recently there have been reports from local politicians complaining that it is unfair that Oregon wants to impose tolls on interstate crossings into their state on I-205 and I-5. I agree that it’s unfair, but their complaints have little credibility because Oregon has the freedom to tax and add fees inside its borders.
When the United States was formed, our system of government was created based on freedom, not fairness. If it had been formed on fairness, American Indians and African-Americans would have been included in that government. We all know how that turned out.
