Bagley Downs — The Free Clinic of Southwest Washington received a $15,000 grant from the Dwight and Anna Schwab Charitable Foundation, which will be used to supply medications for low-income uninsured and underinsured patients. Since 2009, the clinic’s on-site dispensary has filled 8,000 to 10,000 prescriptions annually at no cost to patients, according to a release. “Without free medications, many of our patients would end up in a hospital emergency room when their conditions become acute and where services are far more expensive,” Free Clinic Executive Director Barbe West said in the release.
