Oregon Zoo admission free Sunday

The Oregon Zoo invites the community to explore the zoo for free Sunday.

The zoo’s admission gates will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the grounds open until 5 p.m. The zoo’s animals are more likely to be active during the wintertime, thanks to the cooler weather, according to a press release.

Nora, the zoo’s new young polar bear, is typically most active before 11 a.m.

Those planning a trip to the zoo are encouraged to take MAX light rail to avoid parking troubles in Washington Park. Visitors can check parking availability on the park’s website, For more information from the zoo, or call 503-226-1561.

The zoo is at 4001 S.W. Canyon Road, Portland, just off Highway 26 west of downtown.
