Girls basketball: Hoquiam 50, Seton Catholic 47 (OT)

A tight defensive battle throughout, it wasn’t until the overtime period that visiting Hoquiam (8-12) pulled away for the first-round victory in the 1A district tournament.

Jasmine Morgan came off the bench for Seton (13-5) to lead the Cougars in scoring with 17 points, shooting 13 of 18 from the free-throw line. Nami Nsubuga had 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Seton will next play Stevenson in a loser-out game on Tuesday.
