We now have finally confirmed the foolishness and, sadly, the stupidity of our newly elected president.

Those of us who remember Montgomery, Selma, and that tragic day, April 4, 1968, at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tenn., know the hugely important role that Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., has played in the history of our country. We owe him much. He is truly a great American.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
