Clark County stage 2 burn ban lifting

Improved air quality and forecasted winds blowing east through the gorge prompted the Southwest Clean Air Agency to remove the burn ban currently in place for Clark County.

Residents may once again use wood stoves and fireplaces, but are asked to burn as cleanly as possible.

Weather forecasters expect an air inversion to lift today and east winds form the Gorge to increase area ventilation.

Residents are still asked to burn as cleanly as possible, as excess chimney smoke and smoking out one’s neighbor is illegal.
