Everett – A 69-year-old Washington man has been sentenced to a minimum of 10 years in prison after admitting to sexually abusing multiple young girls.

The Daily Herald reported that Darrell Lynn Arp was imprisoned on Tuesday. Arp will need to convince a state board that it’s safe for him to roam free if he ever wants to be released.

Arp was arrested last summer after suspicious strangers captured video of an 11-year-old girl sitting on his lap behind a security fence at a closed grocery store.

Arp reportedly told the people he and the girl were “just playing.” They then hopped on nearby bicycles and rode away.

Arp initially denied wrongdoing but recently pleaded guilty.
