Vancouver Community Concert Band seeks all brass, woodwind and percussion players, active and retired. All abilities welcome; no audition required. The volunteer community band, along with its polka band, Dixieland Jazz Band and chamber ensembles, performs regularly around the area. Friends of Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge seeks submissions for its annual Refuge Photography Contest. Photographers can submit up to six nature images taken within the boundaries of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge. Prizes will be awarded in both adult and youth entries. The deadline is Sept. 5, with entries submitted online at http://prophotosupply.com/contests

Second Story Gallery seeks applications from artists interested in displaying work during 2018 in a monthly exhibit.
