KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Authorities asked some homes and businesses in Klamath Falls to evacuate because of a fire along Highway 97.

The Herald and News reports some areas were also without power Tuesday after Pacific Power cut electricity as a safety precaution.

Fire spokeswoman Sarah Saarloos says half of the 40-acre blaze was lined Tuesday afternoon and no structures were damaged. She says the fire was likely caused by human activity.
