A truck carrying huge, heavy rolls of paper rolled onto its side just after 2 p.m. Friday, snarling traffic for much of the afternoon at the intersection of state Highway 14 and Interstate 205.

The freeway remained open, but at one point Washington State Department of Transportation webcams showed traffic backed up on Highway 14 as far east as Southeast 164th Avenue.

The truck was traveling in the left lane with a loaded 53-foot box trailer when the driver, identified as Surinder Singh, 59, failed to negotiate the curve, and the truck rolled, blocking the right lane, according to Washington State Patrol.

The truck came to rest on its right side of the ramp from Highway 14 east to I-205, near where it splits into northbound and southbound lanes, according to photos from the scene. It was righted about 5 p.m. and towed from the scene.

No one was injured.

Troopers determined that speed played a factor in the crash.
