VANCOUVER – Burgerville CEO Jeff Harvey is on a six-month sabbatical, a company spokesperson told The Columbian in an email.

A spokesman for the Vancouver-based hamburger chain declined to say what spurred the leave, as the company “does not comment on individual personnel matters.” Harvey’s sabbatical started earlier this month, they said.

Jill Taylor, a business consultant, will serve as interim CEO. The spokesperson said Taylor has worked with Burgerville for the past 20 years.

Harvey joined Burgerville’s parent company, The Holland, as chief operating office in 2004. According to Columbian archives, he was named president in 2008 and put in charge of Burgerville’s expansion.

Burgerville, founded in 1961, has more than 40 locations.
