Vancouver – Additional Vancouver, Battle Ground, Washougal and Ridgefield police officers, and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and Washington State Patrol, will be on the road today and Saturday to watch for impaired drivers, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

The aim of the extra patrols is to keep drunken or otherwise impaired drivers off the road.

The extra shifts are paid for through a state grant.

The Vancouver police asked weekend revelers to plan a safe ride home, and asked anyone who sees someone who appears to be driving impaired to call 911.
