Letter: GOP shows its true colors

The continuing Republican effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act is unconscionable. According to the Congressional Budget Office, every single bill presented by the GOP in both houses of Congress will result in at least 22 million people losing health care, with higher deductibles and premiums, with older Americans paying five times what younger people pay for health insurance.

Given the realities of conservative political philosophy, this will result in thousands dying and going bankrupt and is why the health care industry, the AMA and AARP have all come out against it, and why it is the most unpopular bill in history. So, why does the Republican Party persist in threatening our health care and lives? Simply, because there is no issue more important for them than tax cuts for the wealthy, and this bill does exactly that.

The Republican Party is willing to stick it to the disabled, children, and the elderly to look out for the wealthy few. Now the American people can finally see the GOP for what it really is, and how little the nonrich matter to them.
