Vancouver – To show solidarity with Portland, C-Tran is joining TriMet in a moment of silence at noon today to honor the two men killed, one injured man and all others affected by stabbings on the Portland MAX train last week.

Buses and C-Van vehicles will pull over at a stop or along their route in a safe location and invite everyone on board to observe the moment of silence. Passengers are invited to take part wherever the are, along with C-Tran staff.

In a news release, the agency said the observation is a small gesture of respect to Rick Best and Taliesin Myrddin Namkai-Meche, who were killed in the attack, and Micah Fletcher, who was injured.

Adding, “all people have the right to travel and live without fear. We stand against hate.”
