Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Connections provides opportunities through the Human Services Council.

• Boomerang, a coffee house, art gallery and upscale resale shop, is seeking fine arts interns to help with art shows at the gallery.

• City of Vancouver Fire Department is looking for Fire Corps volunteers to help with Fourth of July safety presentations, smoke alarm installation and community safety events.

• City of Vancouver Parks and Recreation 50+ Travel Program is looking for trip planners to plan and lead two to three trips per month. Volunteers must pass a background check, be willing to be trained in first aid/CPR/blood-borne pathogens, and attend monthly meetings.

• C-Tran is looking for travel trainers/ambassadors to help seniors and people with disabilities learn how to use public transportation. Ambassadors accompany customers on the bus to and from their destinations in Clark County and explain schedules and bus routes.

• Evergreen Habitat for Humanity seeks construction volunteers to help with homebuilding, including pouring foundations, framing walls, installing drywall and painting. Help is need from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

• Friends of the Carpenter is looking for woodworking help at its activity center. Volunteers work with a variety of clients, including disabled people, to help create a safe and welcoming environment.

• Volunteer Connections is looking for event planners with experience coordinating a large athletic event or race, to help develop a signature fundraising event.
