Letter: Remove self-serving idiots

Physicist Stephen Hawking relates that the planet will not be habitable in 100 years. Presently there are too many people struggling with habitat and survival. I’m not talking about most of the super-wealthy, who have basically caused the huge disparity between the American dream and poverty.

According to Time magazine, one in five people trust the government to do the right thing. I don’t trust any form of government that’s not fiscally responsible and doesn’t provide for the poor and uneducated. Civilized countries provide health care and education for their qualified populace. The U.S. is light-years from these basic rights.

We should dissolve all the politicians, bureaucrats, lobbyists, for-profit health care, drug cartels, and appoint someone like Warren Buffet for leadership. Let’s bring all our troops home from the Middle East, privatize all health care entities, rebuild our outdated infrastructure, insist that all cars and trucks be electric by 2025, fund renewable energy, and initiate free education and health care. Our education system needs to be brought to the 21st century with meaningful educational techniques and trade schools.

Do we really enjoy our over-gentrified cities? Polluted environments? Dumbed-down people addicted to electronic devices?

Everyone deserves something better than the self-serving idiots now in charge. We must stop being a competitive resource-gobbling species.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
