The Mainstream Republicans of Washington have selected Clark County Auditor Greg Kimsey as their local government official of the year.

The honor recognized Kimsey’s “leadership, integrity and work ethic,” according to a press release. The Norm Maleng Award was named after the King County Prosecutor who served from 1978 until his death in 2007. Kimsey was also recognized for being the “epitome of fairness” and for his role and leadership in developing a new form of government in Clark County.

Kimsey has served as Clark County auditor since January 1999.
