Firefighters respond to several small fires

The Vancouver Fire Department responded to a small fire in the Target parking lot at 7809 N.E. Vancouver Plaza Dr. at around 3 p.m. Saturday.

Firefighter Joe Spatz said a small fire ignited in some bark dust and also damaged three bushes. Several fire engines responded to the call, but a Target employee extinguished the fire shortly after it began. No cars parked in the lot were damaged.

Firefighter around the county responded to numerous calls throughout the day, including a couple small bark dust fires, but most calls weren’t related to significant events.
