C-Tran plans paratransit fares open houses

Vancouver – C-Tran is proposing a change to fares for paratransit users.

The agency wants to discontinue monthly and day passes for C-Van, starting when the Hop Fastpass electronic fare system connects to C-Van at the end of this year or early in 2018.

The proposed changes would require riders to pay single-ride fares each time they use C-Van. Monthly and day passes would be discontinued. The $1.80 cost of a single ride wouldn’t change.

Fixed routes and Vanpool fares won’t be affected in 2017.

Meetings on the proposal will be:

• 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 22: Marshall Center Craft Room, 1009 E. McLoughlin Blvd., Vancouver. Served by Route 30 and The Vine.

• 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 28: Fisher’s Landing Transit Center, 3501 S.E. 164th Ave., Vancouver. Served by routes 30, 37, 41, 65, 80, 92, 177.

• 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30: C-Tran Administrative Building, 2425 N.E. 65th Ave., Vancouver. Served by Route 30 and The Vine. This open house is part of the C-Tran Citizens Advisory Committee monthly meeting.
