Letter: Give builders a break

By Lelia Rose Foreman, Vancouver

Yes! It has been so frustrating trying to get our house built. We would submit the plans to the county. After a long delay (because they were short-handed) we would get the plans back with instructions to do such and such.

We would do such and such and re-submit the plans. After another long delay, we would be told that regulations had changed, and now we needed to do such and such more. We would do such and such more and re-submit and again be told that the regulations had changed. So the years dragged by, and the price of steel rose 40 percent, and a lot of things we could have had for the house we can no longer afford to have. This has been a deep aggravation. I’m glad for this building bill.
