Braille teacher earns grant to help pay for degree

Hough — The Philanthropic Educational Organization awarded a $1,900 grant to Carmina Harrington, a braille teacher with Vancouver Public Schools at Hough Elementary School and Hazel Dell Elementary School.

The grant will go toward’s Harrington’s pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in special education at Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The grant was presented March 4 at a Philanthropic Educational Organization member’s home.
