Vancouver-based radio station KXRW (99.9 FM) launched March 1 after months of delays. It was supposed to hit the airwaves in July, but zoning and permitting issues regarding antenna sites — and snow — delayed the process.

The nonprofit station has a partnership with the Media Institute for Social Change and Portland’s XRAY.FM. Vancouver listeners will pick up the Portland station’s feed, interspersed with such local content as public affairs, business news, interviews, sports and entertainment.

A launch party 6 to 8:30 p.m. April 13 will be at Brickhouse, 109 W. 15th St., Vancouver. Lincoln’s Beard will provide live music. The station seeks memberships and business sponsors. Contact susan.galaviz@xray.fm or 360-601-6601.
