Camas — Vancouver USA Singers awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Brooke Moltrum, a Camas High School senior.

She has performed as part of the school’s Select Vocal Ensemble for two years and been a member of the Camas Drama Department for four years, in which she participated in 11 productions, a record for the department, according to a release from the Singers.

She earned the Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role award at the 5th Avenue Musical Theatre Awards for portraying Fiona in “Brigadoon,” and she was invited to attend the National High School Musical Theatre Awards held in New York City, where she got to perform on a Broadway stage.

She earned the scholarship by performing for a panel of six judges from the Singers. She performed “I’m Not Afraid of Anything” by Jason Robert Brown.

Moltrum will perform her winning solo during the Vancouver USA Singers’ upcoming concerts: All You Need Is Love at 7 p.m. on May 20 and 3 p.m. May 21 at First Presbyterian Church, 4300 Main St., Vancouver.
