Vancouver Mall — The Columbia Mothers of Twins Club hosted the Northwest Association of Mothers of Twins Club Convention at The Heathman Lodge from April 20 to 22, and this year’s theme was “Wide World of Sports.” The association is a nonprofit made up of chapters in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia. The convention featured guest speakers, workshops and a boutique where members sold items relating to multiples. A luncheon had 129 guest attendees, and Joan Friedman was the keynote speaker for the weekend. She is a psychotherapist and author, as well as an identical twin and a mother of twins. The local chapter was founded in October 1958 and was designed to provide support, education and information for mothers and guardians of multiple birth children.
