The Clark College baseball team stayed alive for an NWAC postseason berth with a doubleheader split against Lane on Sunday at Eugene.

Nathaniel Affonso went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBI in Clark’s 8-4 win to salvage the split after a 15-5 loss in Game 1.

Clark scored three runs in the fourth inning for a 4-1 lead, and Lane was able to cut it to 4-3 after the fifth, but Clark added four in the seventh to seal the win.

Lane pounded out 18 hits in the first game and blew it open with an eight-run fourth inning.

Clark (19-18, 9-13 NWAC South) needs to finish either third or fourth in the South region to reach the postseason for the second year in a row. Lane (22-17, 16-6) has already clinched second place.

They are scheduled to face off in the regular-season doubleheader finale at noon Monday at Kindsfather Field at Clark College.
