Employees take day off work for fun

Orchards — As the popular adage goes, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

The quote was said by Ferris Bueller, and it was the general theme behind Pacific Lifestyle Homes’ 17th annual “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” held April 29. During the annual event, named for the 1986 movie starring Matthew Broderick, Pacific employees take the day off and participate in group activities.

This year, they started with golf in the morning at Topgolf in Hillsboro, Ore. They finished the day bowling at Crosley Lanes in Vancouver.

“The day off has really become an event that we all look forward to each year,” Kevin Wann, president and CEO of Pacific, said in a release from the company. “It’s fun to put work aside during a normal work day and get to know the people you work with in a more casual environment.”
