Letter: Time for system to evolve

By David L. Watson, VANCOUVER
Published: May 19, 2017, 6:00am

In his May 15 letter, “100-day benchmark outdated,” Robert Kerr points out that the 100-day benchmark should not be used as a barometer because it is a “caveman” yardstick.

I suggest we all ignore the 100-day mandate and eliminate the Electoral College, which is truly an ancient caveman atrocity. I agree we are living in a more complex world. Why are we allowing knuckle-draggers to run it?

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
