Letter: Investigation is necessary

I’m continually amazed at President Donald Trump’s supporters’ refusal to have Russian collusion investigated. Trump praised Russian President Putin numerous times during the campaign and suggested he might remove sanctions. Former national security adviser Michael Flynn was paid by Russia and lied about sanction discussions with the Russian ambassador. Trump refuses to divulge his tax returns and his sons have both admitted Russian oligarch funding of Trump projects. Trump shared secret intel with Russians in the Oval Office.

Russia is not our friend and Putin is a gangster who has his opponents killed. If Trump is cleared of suspicions, then fine — but to say Russian interference in our elections doesn’t warrant investigation is not in our country’s best interest.
