A Portland man involved in a 2013 botched robbery at a Hazel Dell home was sentenced Wednesday to spend more than five years in prison.
Tyson R. Beavers, 35, pleaded guilty in Clark County Superior Court to first-degree burglary, attempted first-degree robbery and second-degree assault stemming from the Aug. 2, 2013, incident at a home on Northwest 76th Street where marijuana was being grown. He initially faced an attempted murder charge, but the charges were amended in exchange for his guilty pleas.
Prosecutors believe several other people were involved in the robbery attempt, and court records indicate there may have been two other assailants — one armed with a .45 caliber handgun. However, no other arrests have been made, Deputy Prosecutor James Smith said.
Two victims reported having substantial injuries and said one of their assailants may have had his finger severed during the altercation, according to a probable cause affidavit.
