Ridgefield — The Ridgefield School District’s board of directors honored its May employee and students of the month at the board’s May 9 meeting. Donna Siegel, a registrar and secretary at Ridgefield High School, was named employee of the month. She’s also an active member of the Booster Club, which supports the high school’s athletic programs and activities. South Ridge Elementary School sixth-grader Catalina Hagen was honored for her interest and engagement in class, as she frequently asks questions and looks for various ways to pursue learning. Zuzu Hunziker, a fifth-grader at Union Ridge Elementary School, was named student of the month for her exemplary class work — helping others and fundraising for the Humane Society for Southwest Washington. View Ridge Middle School eighth-grader Mackenzie Dewey was honored for her active participation in class. Trey Knight, a freshman at Ridgefield High School, was nominated 13 times for student of the month by seven different teachers this year, and is said to be a positive influence on fellow classmates and a student who is consistently prepared for class.
