Major crimes detectives are investigating after a man was shot in the leg Wednesday night in east Vancouver.

Officers and paramedics were called to the 1900 block of Northeast 152nd Place just after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday for a report of shots fired.

Arriving officers located an adult man who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, described as an injury that is not life-threatening, Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.

The shooting appeared to take place outside, Kapp said. Officers searched for the suspect in the shooting, who was driving a black BMW-type vehicle, but they were not located, Kapp said.

Information on the victim was not released since investigators don’t yet know the motivation for the shooting, Kapp said.

Detectives are continuing their investigation.
