Clark County Genealogical Society seeks volunteers with an interest in genealogy and a desire to help others to staff the society’s library. Training provided.

Clark County Juvenile Court is looking for volunteer mentors to assist youth, ages 10 to 18, in completing their obligations to their communities by working with different nonprofit organizations. Volunteers help to keep the young person stay on task and to understand the value of the work being done.

Columbia River Mental Health Services is looking for mentors to develop relationships with one child who needs support through life’s challenges. Volunteers meet with children one-on-one, once a week for one to three hours for a minimum of one year. Must pass an FBI criminal background check and attend training.

Gifts for our Community/b.devine clothing boutique seeks volunteer sales associates. Provide customer service at the cash register and with merchandising.

Humane Society of SW Washington — Retails Thrift Store seeks store assistants to receiving donations, help with merchandising and customer service.

The Fort Vancouver National Trust is seeking 300 volunteers for the July 4 celebration at Fort Vancouver. Individuals, service organizations, corporate groups and all others are encouraged to volunteer to sell and collect tickets, work at information booths, be a parking lot attendant or work at the first aid station.

Shifts are a few hours long, plus a short training session before the day of the event. Volunteers will receive a parking pass, a volunteer T-shirt and reusable water bottle.

Food Bank Fresh, a program of the Clark County Food Bank, seeks volunteer truck drivers and riders, market managers, volunteer program leaders, client service providers, and nutrition educators, to help people in underserved communities, striving to alleviate hunger and its root causes.

Clark County Youth Commission is recruiting youth, ages 11 to 19, from all walks of life to fill 10 positions for one-year terms.

The 30-member commission serves as a voice for Clark County youth. It advises the Clark County Council, county departments and community organizations about how their work can affect young people. It identifies and takes action on youth concerns, educates the community about building strong youth-adult partnerships, and provides leadership opportunities for youth.

One volunteer is needed from each of these school districts: Camas, Evergreen, Washougal and Woodland. Woodland applicants must live in Clark County. Vacant positions also include at large positions, which represent any part of Clark County, and new leader positions for youths with no leadership experience.

The Youth Commission requires four to 12 hours of work each month, plus time for special projects. Meetings are 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. the first and third Thursdays of each month except July and August.

The application deadline is June 14. Applications are at www.clark.wa.gov/community-services/youth-commission. Finalists will be interviewed.
