Letter: Kudos to crackdown on scofflaws

I was thrilled to see action on citing illegal drivers living in Washington with Oregon plates. It’s amazing how much money Washington is losing because of these drivers.

As my husband and I walk through our neighborhood, we play a game as we pass a huge apartment complex. He counts the Oregon plates on the left side of the street and I do the right side. Our most common number is nine to 10, and that doesn’t include the cars up in the parking spots closer to the units. On weekends, you can almost double that number.

If indeed this money goes to help finance our schools, then people in the apartments should pay their fair share, as their kids climb aboard the school buses each day.

Thank you, Washington State Patrol! Great job!
