Clark men’s soccer falls at Tacoma 3-0

Clark women's team to host Whatcom on Saturday

The Clark College men’s soccer team saw its season come to an end Wednesday with a 3-0 loss at Tacoma in the first round of the NWAC Tournament.

All three Tacoma goals were scored in the final 17 minutes of the match. According to the scoresheet, Clark took five shot in the match to Tacoma’s 14. Tacoma also had eight corner kicks to Clark’s three.

The Penguins, which were the third-place team out of the South Region, finish the season 4-8-2.

WOMEN’S SOCCER — South Region champion Clark will host Whatcom at 3 p.m. Saturday in the NWAC Tournament quarterfinals.

Whatcom beat North Idaho 1-0 in overtime on Wednesday on a goal by Columbia River High grad Alexis Dettling.

Clark (12-2-1) had a first-round bye as region champion.

Freshman Facienne Graham ranks sixth in the NWAC with 14 goals and 37 points on the season for the Penguins.

Another player to watch on Whatcom’s side is freshman Payton Lunde, who is third in the NWAC with 18 goals this season. The Orcas (13-5-1) finished second in the North Region.
