Letter: Find solution to flag controversy

By Steve Engard, Ridgefield
Published: November 10, 2017, 6:00am

To belabor the point of kneeling versus standing during the national anthem, to honor all, I propose that the NFL players run out onto the field, each carrying one flag. The American flag, Coast Guard flag, Army flag, Navy, Air Force flag and Marine flag, in their left hands. As the national anthem starts to play they all raise their left hand, place the right hand over their heart and take a right knee, all in unison. Then the only individuals to find fault with this would be anarchists and fascists.

Sounds like a better solution, to me, than what we have going on now.
