No one was inside a vehicle that went into the Columbia River north of Frenchman’s Bar Regional Park on Wednesday morning.

Police and fire crews, including a rescue boat, responded at about 10:30 a.m. to a report of a car in the river. It was fully submerged at the bottom of a boat launch near Caterpillar Island, but no one was inside.

Clark County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Alex Schoening said the vehicle appeared to have been dumped there.
