How many school lunches could you buy for that much money? How many low-income housing units could you build? Yes, the fate of the proposed oil-by-rail terminal is crucial for Vancouver’s future. But a million dollars spent on a port commission race is obscene and an object lesson in how money has poisoned our politics.
