Battle Ground — The calendar read Halloween, but it felt a lot more like Christmas for students at Firm Foundation Christian School. On Halloween, students spent time packing shoeboxes full of school supplies, hygiene items, toys, art supplies and stuffed animals for children overseas. The project, called Operation Christmas Child, was organized by Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization based in North Carolina. Firm Foundation families sent in the required items in the weeks leading up to the packing parties, during which students in elementary school through high school packed 326 boxes.
