Letter: Inslee is out of the loop

By Harriet Hooper, VANCOUVER

In response to the Sept. 21 story “Inslee: State will be heard on tolls,” how can Gov. Inslee say that he has “received no indication that Oregon plans to establish tolls on the state line between Washington and Oregon,” when Oregon’s governor signed a bill doing just that? She wants the tolls for Oregon highways.

Where has our governor been? Then he says that “Washington state and the Federal Highway Administration will be integrally involved in any decisions before they move forward.” That sounds like it will be a little late to do anything about it.

Inslee has instructed the Washington State Department of Transportation to work with the Oregon Department of Transportation on this issue. I don’t think it should even be an issue.
