Despite what the author of the letter “Athletes exercise their rights” (Sept. 27) would have us believe, President Donald Trump did not go after black athletes. That is a media invention. The president criticized all NFL players who disrespected the flag and the national anthem.
Such protests are within their First Amendment rights, but we also have the right to boycott the NFL.
