Letter: Government must act

By Ron Smith, VANCOUVER

When does it finally become too much? How many shootings, how many maimings, how many deaths — how many children must die — before our government finally does something about the proliferation of guns in the United States? We invaded Iraq over weapons of mass destruction; this man, Stephen Paddock, had a large cache of them in Las Vegas. We must get fully-automatic and easily modified semi-automatic weapons off our streets.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
