The viral interest in McDonald’s old Szechuan Sauce, thanks to the show “Rick and Morty,” has led one local McDonald’s to bring it back.
The sauce was originally sold as a cross-promotion with the 1998 Disney film “Mulan,” and became a recurring joke in the cartoon series. So much so that McDonald’s has re-released the sauce at participating locations.
The McDonald’s at 405 S.E. 131st St. will package the sauce with the sale of buttermilk chicken tenders, while supplies last.
