Letter: Support Orange for port

By Mary Slowik Siciliano, VANCOUVER

In the face of wildfires and monstrous storms, we need calm and clear guidance. Though we’re a small community, we could have a huge effect on an environment degrading before our eyes. If we’re home to a terminal, we’d play a dangerous game with the climate on many fronts. But we need jobs and the expansion of the port on which our economy depends. So we need clear, firm guidance that recognizes all the factors at play in port decisions.

Don Orange is the man for this leadership. I hope our community will consider him the best candidate for the Port of Vancouver commission.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
